Spring Camp Out 2022

Chilly nights didn't stop us from having a great weekend at Musser Scout Reservation!

Pack 137 rolled in to Camp Garrison on Friday evening, ready to pitch tents and roast marshmallows! Due to renovations on the ship, we weren't able to sleep indoors - but we bundled up and made the best of it. Friday night was definitely COLD but there wasn't a single Scout-sicle Saturday morning so we must have been prepared!

Saturday brought the real fun. We started the day with a not-so-healthy-but-tasty breakfast of sugary cereals and donuts. The sun came up and we hit the pond for some fishing fun. Scouts and parents then spent a couple hours cleaning up the underbrush and clearing overgrowth around the pond - our way of saying thanks to Musser for hosting us for the weekend. And then came the moment we were all waiting for - time for the shooting range! This is definitely the favorite activity year after year. We got in some more fishing before it got dark and scarfed down a hot dog and hamburger dinner - and some of us even ate our vegetables. We got to make banana boats around the campfire before playing lots of glow-in-the-dark manhunt; and finally Cubmaster Simpson sent us all off to bed.

Sunday morning some of the parents got up bright and early to make pancakes, eggs, sausage, and other goodies for breakfast. We then packed up our things, cleaned up the site (Leave No Trace!), and headed home. It was a fun weekend for sure!
